Lumotz Activewear is a clothing brand based in The Netherlands and Nigeria. This clothing brand is a social startup with a scalable business model to make a difference. Hence it is a unique blend of a clothing brand and a Non-profit organization. Lumotz Activewear aims to support underprivileged athletes in various ways through its activities, business models and financial assistance.
The idea started in September 2020 with research and development until the first supply of products in November 2021 when sales and marketing started. These products are uniquely made from recycled fabric and plastic bottles, providing an incredible touch of quality and style. They are 100 percent eco-friendly and sustainability-driven. The materials used have cool-dry fiber properties that are comfortable, quick-drying, non-wrinkling, breathable and transmit moisture to give a cooling effect.
The plan is to create a self-sustainable business model in which the clothing brand works together with the brands non-profit arm called Lumotz Global Foundation.
Lumotz Global Foundation handles everything on the ground, this involves the education, empowerment and equipping underprivileged athletes in Nigeria with the tools needed to create a level playing field for them. Lumotz Activewear then creates the awareness around the projects the foundation carries out. By creatively designing high quality sporting apparels with powerful stories and partnering with organisations that also want to be part of the solution. A quarter of the profits from our sales go to the foundation, while the rest of the profit is reinvested to increase our brand’s impact.
